Stage Four


Stage 4:

Bringing in more color, defining the facial expressions, adding more movement in the background, more birds. Getting ready to bring in full color, lights and darks.

Here I have added more background and started to refine the features on the faces. The birds are being blocked here as well. My goal is to complete one painting a month for this series, that will give me 4 medium to large paintings to put up for this show, as well as some ink and water colors that I will being working on simultaneously....better get crackin.

Stages: A new series in process...


I have begun a new series that I will be showing at Terra Bella Flowers and Mercantile in May 2010. This series will focus on the mother/child relationship as the Show is part of The Greenwood Annual Mothers Day Artwalk.

For fun, I thought I would do a step by step progress of one of the paintings I have started for this series.

Here is stage 1:
